Michael Clark Duncan Tribute

September 5, 2012ivySchedule FeatureComments Off

By The Associated Press:

Michael Clarke Duncan’s presence was formidable, even intimidating: The former bodyguard had a muscular, 6-foot-5 frame, but it was topped by the brightest of megawatt smiles.

The prolific character actor, whose dozens of movies included an Oscar-nominated performance as a death row inmate in “The Green Mile” and box office hits including “Armageddon,” ‘’Planet of the Apes” and “Kung Fu Panda,” died Monday at age 54. And although he only turned to acting in his 30s, it’s clear from the outpouring of prayers and remembrances he received across the Hollywood and sports worlds that his gentle-giant persona made him much-loved during that relatively brief time.  His gravelly baritone was well-suited to everything from animated films to action spectacles, but no matter the role, a warmth and a sweetness was always evident underneath.

Michael Clarke Duncan , “the gentle giant”, will truly be missed.  We send heartfelt prayers out to his friends and family – The IBFFN Family.

The holidays are a joyous and festive time of year when families come together, reflect, and enjoy each others presence; however, money and gifts minus communication equals lesson learned. With a stellar celebrity cast such as R&B crooner Ruben Studdard (Season 2 Winner of American Idol), TV & Film Actress Golden Brooks (Girlfriends, Motives), TV & Film Actor Darius McCrary (Family Matters, Kingdom Come), local actors Jewel Lucien, Eula Moore-Frost, Jayla Davis and starring Alvin Moore, Jr. himself as his signature character “Gramps” (A Mother’s Prayer, When The Lights Go Out) “A Perfect Gift” will not disappoint.

The Perfect Gift is an original stage play written and directed by Nashville’s own Alvin Moore, Jr./Image Entertainment and Swirl Films
